Abstract
As the digital landscape evolves, cyberattacks are at an all-time high. Data breaches have caused a large amount of turmoil in the retail industry. Customers must feel that they are able to make a purchase without fearing that their sensitive information will be compromised. Cybersecurity is the ability to protect these users against unauthorized use of electronic data. Retailers have also been the victim of these attacks and suffer significant financial loss as well as bad publicity. Retailers are putting measures in place to safeguard themselves and customers from these attacks. This chapter will cover the challenges faced by cyberattacks, explain how these attacks occur, and discuss how analytical applications can be utilized to stop these attacks before they happen.
