The essay reviews the publishing projects and major new books produced to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo’s death, focusing on Marco Polo and Venice. It is divided into three sections: a brief presentation of the Marco Polo’s Diplomatic Codex, a project coordinated by the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, which aims to publish, both in print and in an open-access online edition, all known documentation concerning Marco Polo; the analysis of some new documents discovered by recent research; the presentation of studies on Marco Polo published in the last two years.
