Tonga - Shaping Tonga’s Tomorrow : Mobilizing the Private Sector for Growth and Jobs
Overview & Synopsis
The Tonga Growth and Jobs Report 2025 offers key findings and analysis on challenges and opportunities for achieving sustainable growth and job creation. The first two chapters discuss the constraints of stalled growth, low participation, and weak productivity growth (Chapter 1 and Chapter 2). The report then takes a deeper dive into themes raised in those chapters by looking at specific opportunities in the services sector in chapter 3 and the labor force in chapter 4. The report ends with policy recommendations (chapter 5) that are closely aligned with the framework introduced in the Jobs: The Path to Prosperity Development Committee Paper, which includes foundational infrastructure, business-enabling environment, and access to finance and private capital.
