Praomys jacksoni (De Winton, 1897). Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 6, 20:318. TYPE LOCALITY: Uganda, Entebbe. DISTRIBUTION: Cameroun to S. Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia. COMMENT: Subgenus Praomys; see Misonne, 1974, Part 6:27. Included in morio by Delany, 1975, Rodents of Uganda; Ansell, 1978:82, considered jacksoni a distinct species, but did not mention Delany, 1975. ISIS NUMBER: 5301410011056009001.
