Le phénomène populiste contemporain à la lumière du Country Party britannique et de ses émules américains : une approche évolutionniste des transformations conceptuelles
Overview & Synopsis
The Country Party was a British parliamentary movement mainly active from the end of the 17th century until the departure of Prime Minister Robert Walpole in 1742. Well known to specialists in British history and civilisation, it is perhaps less familiar to historians of political ideas. Its characteristics are so astonishing, and seem, on the face of it, so similar to contemporary movements, that the comparison with populism is immediately a seducing exercise.
